This page is for licensed contractors in the East Bay and the wider Bay Area: general contractors, plumbers, electricians, roofers, HVAC and remodelers. You get a website that shows your license, shows your real work, and turns a visit into an estimate request, even while you are on a job site all day.

What a contractor’s website has to do

A homeowner looking for a contractor is careful. They are about to let a stranger into their house and hand over a lot of money. So a contractor’s site has a different job than a shop’s or a salon’s. It has to prove you are real, licensed and good at the work, then make it easy to ask for a price.

Show your license number

California requires licensed contractors to put their license number in all of their advertising, and the Contractors State License Board counts any website that asks for work as advertising. We put your number on every page, where a customer can copy it and check it on the CSLB site.

Two more state rules shape what your site can say. Your list of services has to stay inside the license classes you hold. And the state does not let contractors say they are bonded in their ads. We show your license and your insurance, and we leave that word out.

Ask for an estimate, not a booking

Most jobs need a site visit before anyone can quote them, so a “Book now” button is the wrong ask. Your site says “Request an estimate” instead. The form asks what you would ask on the phone: what kind of job it is, the address or area, a few photos, and when they want it done. You get a request you can act on, not a name and a “call me”.

Answer when you cannot pick up

You are on a roof or under a sink, and the phone rings. A customer who gets voicemail often calls the next name on the list. So your site lets them pick a time for a call, or send a request that gets an automatic reply right away. They know it arrived, and you call back when you are off the job.

Show the work

Photos of your real jobs do more than any sales line. Before-and-after pairs work best. Add the towns you cover, so people know you come to them, and a few real reviews from your customers.

What you get

We build it for a small one-time price, set for a small business, not agency pricing. Then a monthly plan keeps it working. Every site includes:

  • A design worked out with you. Your trade, your services, your photos.
  • Mobile-first and fast. Most people will find you on a phone.
  • An estimate request form with the questions above, and an automatic reply.
  • Your license number and insurance on every page.
  • Online call booking, connected to the tool you already use if you have one.
  • Your Google Business Profile set up, so you can show up on the map.
  • Basic on-page SEO, so each service page says what it is in plain words.
  • Hosting and the monthly plan. We keep it hosted, updated and backed up, and we change it when your business changes.

Once the site is live, you can add the Get Found plan. It keeps your Google Business Profile up to date, asks your customers for reviews, and adds pages for the areas you serve. See local SEO for how that works.

It works with the software you already run

If you already use Housecall Pro, Jobber or ServiceTitan, keep it. We connect your site to it rather than replacing it. These tools have their own ways to take requests or bookings online. We put that on your site, so new work lands where your jobs already live. If you use none of them, a simple form that emails you works fine. See online booking for how we pick and set up the right tool.

How it works

  1. A free call. You tell us your trade, where you work, and what the phone is like on a busy week.
  2. We gather what we need. Your services, job photos, license number, insurance, the towns you cover, and the tools you already use.
  3. We build it and you review it. One designer builds your site, and that is the person you talk to. You say what is wrong, and it gets fixed.
  4. It goes live, and we keep it running. The monthly plan covers hosting, updates, backups and changes when you need them.

A contractor we built for

A construction company came to us with no website at all. We built their site from scratch, and we host and maintain it. Once requests started coming in, they asked for more: a CRM so requests land in one place, online call booking so customers stop playing phone tag with someone on a site all day, and automatic email replies so a request is answered at once, day or night.

None of that was in the first plan. The website is what showed them the gap. Read the full story in the construction case study.

When this is the wrong answer

  • You are booked solid from referrals and do not want more leads. A site that brings in requests you will not answer is money spent for nothing.
  • You only need to be listed. If customers find you on Google Maps and call, a well-kept Google Business Profile may be enough for now. You can set one up yourself for free.
  • You want to build it yourself. Wix and Squarespace are fine tools, and you do not need us to use them. Just put your license number on every page.

Common questions

Do I really have to show my license number on my website?

Yes. California requires it in all advertising, and the CSLB counts a website that asks for work as advertising. We are not lawyers, so check with the CSLB if you are unsure about your own case.

What does it cost?

A small one-time build, priced for a small business, then a monthly plan. The price depends on how many services and pages you need. Ask for a quote and we will tell you in writing.

Can I keep Housecall Pro or Jobber?

Yes. We connect the site to the tool you run. We do not ask you to switch.

I already have a website. Can you work with it?

Tell us what you have. We will tell you honestly whether it is worth fixing or better to start over.

Who actually builds it?

One designer. The person on your first call is the person who builds your site and looks after it after launch. You can see all our website work for the other trades we build for.

Tell us your trade and where you work

Tell us what you do, which part of the Bay Area you cover, which field software you use, and what happens now when a customer calls and you cannot answer. We will come back with a plan and a quote. Send us the details.
